BJP Confident of Winning Banki Pur By‑Poll After Recent Party Activities

Delhi – As the Banki Pur by‑election approaches, Union Minister Giriraj Singh assured that the Bharatiya Janata Party will retain the constituency. He emphasised that the party’s recent activities, including the elevation of a local MLA to a national role, demonstrate its strong foothold in the area.

The minister reminded reporters that voters in Banki Pur previously supported the BJP’s national president as their local representative, a move that earned the party commendation at the centre. This, he said, underscores the deep‑rooted confidence the electorate holds for the BJP.

When questioned about Jan Suraj Party chief Prashant Kishore’s campaign announcement, Singh responded that Kishore’s past election performances, where he could not retain his bond, have already spoken for themselves. "The people have seen enough," he stated, dismissing any speculation about a possible upset.

According to Singh, the BJP’s organisational framework in the district is already in place, and the official candidate will be declared shortly. He asserted that the voters’ loyalty to the party has been evident in previous elections and is expected to continue.

In an unrelated remark, Singh commented on Uttarakhand’s decision to dissolve its madrasa board, noting that such administrative choices are specific to that state and do not influence Bihar’s political scenario.
