BJP files complaint with Election Commission over BLO non‑compliance in SAR drive

BJP national general secretary and Karnataka in‑charge Radhakant Das Aggarwal announced on Thursday that the party has formally complained to the Election Commission about Booth Level Officers (BLOs) allegedly neglecting their duty to distribute Special Intensive Review (SIR) enumeration forms to every household. Speaking from the party’s Jagannath Bhavan headquarters in Bengaluru, Aggarwal said that the Commission had issued a clear directive for BLOs to deliver the forms house‑to‑house, but many officers are reportedly failing to do so. "We have highlighted this violation to the Commission and expect swift remedial action," he stated. Aggarwal also revealed that the BJP has been training its Booth Level Agent‑2 (BLA‑2) volunteers through a series of meetings and workshops to ensure they are prepared for the upcoming SIR exercise. He accused the state government of not deploying the BLA‑2 personnel appointed by the party. The spokesperson referenced a recent controversy involving Karnataka Home Minister Priyank Khadage, who faced backlash after claiming that 90 % of saffron originates from Islamic nations. Regarding cross‑voting rumors, Aggarwal promised that those found responsible will be dealt with firmly. He noted that the BJP maintains a coordination committee with JD(S) that includes state president BY Vijayendra, opposition leader R. Ashok and Union Minister Prahlad Joshi. Aggarwal concluded by predicting that the electorate will reject the Congress government in the 2028 assembly polls, drawing a comparison to West Bengal voters’ response to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
