Bittu Slams Bhagwant Mann Over Poll Code Violations

Ravneet Singh Bittu has accused the Bhagwant Mann government of undermining the election code of conduct by misusing Punjab’s administrative setup. The BJP leader asserted that the ruling AAP is attempting to secure victory in upcoming local body polls through coercive tactics. Bittu described how he traveled from Delhi to meet families whose members had been detained. He said police kept changing the location of those held, first directing him to Sangrur and then to another station. Eventually, the SSP assured him that relatives would be allowed to meet the detained voters. The minister defended the Election Commission as an independent constitutional body and dismissed allegations of bias. He also addressed concerns over the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, clarifying that legitimate overseas voters could prove their eligibility with valid documents. Bittu urged political rivals to examine their own past records before leveling accusations and reiterated that he avoids personal attacks on political families.
