Young Couple’s Impromptu Junction Wedding Ends in Sudden Death
A brief romance sparked on Instagram led two teenagers from Araria district to flee their hometown and head for Purnia. Upon reaching the railway junction, the boy, Dilkhush, performed a makeshift wedding by applying sindoor to his girlfriend Manisha’s forehead, effectively sealing their bond on the platform.
They celebrated the union through the night and the next day set out for a visit to the City Kali Temple. While en route, the bride suffered an abrupt health crisis, reportedly triggered by extreme heat, and collapsed. Bystanders assisted and rushed her to the nearest government medical college hospital.
Medical staff attempted resuscitation, but Manisha was pronounced dead. Police have secured the scene, taken the body for autopsy, and are interrogating the surviving partner. The incident has raised concerns about unsafe impulsive decisions by young adults.
