Union Proposals for 5% to 7% Raise in 8th Pay Commission

Multiple employee organisations have put forward specific increment figures for consideration by the 8th Pay Commission. The National Council Joint Consultative Machinery, All India Defence Employees Federation and Federation of National Postal Organisations have jointly recommended a 6 percent rise. The Indian Railways Technical Supervisors’ Association favours a 5 percent uplift, while the All India New Pension Scheme Employees Federation is pushing for a 7 percent boost. These varied demands underscore the breadth of expectations across different services and the urgency to address wage erosion.
