Today's bullion market: Gold up on MCX, silver marginally lower
On Thursday, August 6, gold continued its upward trajectory while silver recorded a slight decline. MCX gold futures were quoted at Rs 1,48,979 for a 10‑gram quantity, gaining Rs 486 over the previous close. Spot gold maintained a firm level of roughly Rs 1,49,100 per 10 g across major Indian cities.
In the international arena, COMEX listed gold at USD 4,325 per ounce (+0.47%) and silver at USD 62.215 per ounce (‑0.12%). Indian silver futures slipped by Rs 355 to Rs 2,27,233 per kilogram, yet the spot silver price lingered just above the Rs 2.27 lakh threshold, standing at about Rs 2,27,990 per kg.
The current 24‑karat gold rates for selected cities are: Delhi 149,100, Mumbai 148,950, Kolkata 148,950, Chennai 149,250, Bengaluru 149,100, Hyderabad 148,950, Ahmedabad 149,000, Pune 148,950, Jaipur 149,100, Surat 149,000, Patna 149,100, Chandigarh 149,100, Bhopal 149,100, Lucknow 149,100 and Noida 149,100 rupees per 10 g.
