Thermal Plants Face Sub‑50% Coal Reserves, Raising Grid Reliability Concerns

Data from the Central Electricity Authority shows that the fifty plants are operating with only 48 % of the coal stock they need for normal functioning. The prescribed safety margin calls for roughly 19 days of reserves, yet the current inventory covers just nine days. Such a deficit threatens the reliability of the grid, especially as industrial and residential consumption continues to climb during the peak summer months.
