Temple Construction Feud Leads to Political Assassination in Bihar

A long-standing dispute over a temple project in Bhagalpur has resulted in the murder of BJP's Uma Bhuvan Tanti and the subsequent arrest of Ward 51 councillor Deepika Kumari. Local police officials confirmed that technical evidence placed the councillor at the center of the planning stages of the crime.

The conflict centered on the development of the Kalis Mata temple site near Mahadev pond. Reports indicate that Shashi Modi, a former local leader, had expressed significant opposition to Tanti's involvement in the project. While the councillor is now in custody, the police continue to raid locations to find the shooter responsible for the fatal attack.
