Tej Pratap Yadav Flags Safety Risks, Seeks Additional Protection
Janshakti Janata Dal National President Tej Pratap Yadav has called on the central and Bihar governments to enhance his security. In a post on X, he outlined the reasons behind his demand, citing a surge in public interest following his participation in the reality show Rise and Fall 2.
He stated that his popularity has risen noticeably since his return from the show. Wherever he travels, he said, a large number of people assemble to meet him and take photographs, and at times heavy crowds encircle him completely.
Such scenes, he noted, create concern for both his personal safety and the possibility of an unfortunate incident. He indicated that the situation has become a matter of growing apprehension.
Tej Pratap Yadav pointed out that the state government has so far provided only one security personnel for his protection. He warned that when large crowds surround him at public places, his own safety is compromised and the lone guard assigned to him is also put in danger.
He elaborated that the crowd could overwhelm the security personnel, leading to physical harm or even the snatching of a government weapon. In such a case, he said, both his safety and that of his guard would be under threat.
According to him, he has already informed the central and Bihar governments about these concerns on multiple occasions through verbal communication. He has also made formal requests in writing. However, no significant increase in his security arrangements has been made to date.
He raised a pointed question for the government, asking who would bear responsibility if any untoward incident were to happen to him or his security personnel. He also asked whether the authorities were waiting for a tragedy before acting.
He again urged both governments to take up the matter immediately. He said that his present popularity, the crowds at public events and the grave security conditions call for sufficient protection so that any possible incident can be prevented in time.
Concluding his appeal, Tej Pratap Yadav said that protecting citizens and public figures is the government's responsibility. He clarified that he was not seeking any special privileges, but only the necessary safety measures for himself and his security personnel, and urged the government to consider the issue seriously without delay.
