A systematic audit of the state's online teacher‑attendance portal identified a pattern where several educators marked "Mark on Duty" while stationed far from their assigned schools. Some were located in districts adjacent to Katihar, while others were reported to be residing in completely different states.

Such findings raise serious concerns about the authenticity of the digital attendance framework, which was meant to curb absenteeism and ensure consistent classroom presence. The district administration has launched a deeper probe to trace the exact mechanisms used to falsify entries, including potential third‑party assistance.
