Siwan Blast: Four Killed While Making Crackers, Rescue On

A devastating explosion during firecracker production in Bihar's Siwan district has claimed four lives and left several people injured. The blast was reported on Friday evening from Alampur village, which falls under the Jamo police station jurisdiction of Badharia block.

The explosion occurred at the residence of Amruddin Miyan, 72, whose family members were among those killed. The sudden blast caused chaos, and crowds quickly gathered at the site as rescue efforts began.

Blast Strikes During Routine Production

According to villagers, firecracker making had been a long-standing activity at the Miyan household. Families in the area said the work had been carried on since earlier generations. On Friday, production was underway when a loud explosion ripped through the building.

The impact was strong enough to spread panic in nearby homes. Many residents evacuated their houses, while others joined efforts to assist those trapped or injured.

Administration Focuses on Recovery Efforts

Sadar SDO Ashutosh Kumar Gupta and the SDPO arrived after the incident was reported and supervised the start of rescue operations. So far, four bodies have been retrieved from the site, and officials are continuing to search for any other people who may be affected.

Rescue personnel are proceeding carefully because of the risk of further explosions. Administration teams remain stationed at the location to ensure safety.

Health Teams and Top Officials at Site

A team from the health department, led by the Civil Surgeon, has been deployed to provide medical aid. The DM and SP also reached the scene to oversee the response.

SP Bharat Soni said police were alerted at 5:20 pm and confirmed four deaths. He added that seven members of the family were believed to be inside at the time, so information about the remaining individuals is being collected. Intermittent blasts have continued at the site, creating obstacles for rescue workers.

Fire, police, medical, and electricity teams are working together at the location. The area has been completely sealed off, and residents have been requested to remain 200 meters away from the blast site.

License Verification and Forensic Probe Ordered

An FSL team has arrived to collect samples and carry out scientific analysis. Police will register a case to determine the source of the firecrackers and whether the manufacturing was being done with a valid license.

Villagers claimed the family possessed a license and had been making firecrackers for nearly 20 years. Police, however, will verify all facts independently. The SP said the CO and SHO have been asked to verify licensing details. Action will be taken against any person found guilty of negligence or lapses during the probe.
