Severe Storm in Bihar Claims Five Lives as Tree Crushes Hut

A wave of mourning has swept through the village of Dhanushi Tola in Bihar's Sitamarhi after a severe thunderstorm resulted in a horrific tragedy late at night. As heavy winds and rain lashed the region, a giant Peepal tree collapsed onto the humble residence of Sikandar Sahni. The structure was instantly crushed under the weight of the massive trunk. The impact was so severe that five people, including Sahni's wife and four children, died on the spot before any medical help could reach them. Local villagers were the first to respond, working through the storm to pull the victims out from under the uprooted tree. One surviving member of the family was found in a critical state and was rushed to the nearest medical facility for emergency treatment. Police have taken custody of the bodies for post-mortem examinations. District officials have visited the site to express their condolences and have assured the surviving family members of all possible government assistance and compensation as per the disaster management norms.
