Seven‑day rainstorm warning issued for Delhi, UP, Bihar and more

The weather bureau released a week‑long rainstorm warning covering Delhi, the adjoining regions of Noida and Gurugram, and the northern states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. The alert also lists Rajasthan, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal and Maharashtra as zones where flooding could become critical.

Rainfall totals are projected to reach 150–200 mm in some districts, with wind speeds climbing to 60–80 km/h in open terrain. Emergency services have been placed on standby, and disaster management authorities are coordinating with municipal bodies to ensure rapid response if water levels rise.

Residents in low‑lying neighborhoods should keep sandbags ready, relocate valuables above ground level, and follow evacuation orders if issued.
