September 5 Fuel Prices Across Major Indian Cities Remain Largely Unchanged

The September 5 fuel price bulletin confirms that petrol and diesel rates in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and other key metros have stayed almost the same despite a recent surge in global crude oil prices. Brent crude trading near $95.83 a barrel has not translated into higher pump prices for most consumers.

While the OMCs are coping with tighter margins, the government has already moved on other fronts – commercial LPG prices were increased earlier this month, and aviation turbine fuel rates for domestic carriers have also risen. The current stable pricing offers temporary relief to commuters and transport operators.
