Samastipur Field Body Case: Police Probe Possible Assault, Murder

A case that has disturbed the Samastipur district of Bihar has come to light after the body of an unidentified girl was found in a field without clothes. Police have intensified their investigation as the matter has raised serious concerns in the area.

The body was discovered in the fields near Musepur village, under Kalyanpur police station. Villagers found it early in the morning after two days of intermittent rainfall, and the news quickly drew a crowd to the spot.

Those gathered at the site were debating whether the girl had been murdered after sexual assault or had taken her own life. Such discussions have added to the tension in the village.

Police from Kalyanpur station reached the location, prepared the panchnama and sent the body to Sadar Hospital for postmortem. The investigation has been launched in depth.

Initial observations found several injury marks on the body of the deceased. Investigators suspect that she may have been attacked or may have resisted before losing her life.

Following instructions from Samastipur SP Arvind Pratap Singh, FSL and DIU teams were sent to the scene. They gathered scientific evidence and fingerprints from the location.

The Kalyanpur police are questioning local residents and checking the records of girls reported missing recently.

Sadar DSP-2 Sanjay Kumar Singh said the victim has not been identified so far. The body will remain in the mortuary of Samastipur Sadar Hospital for 72 hours so that it can be identified.

Police have made it clear that the exact nature of the case, whether it is murder, rape followed by murder or suicide, will be established only after the postmortem report, identification of the body and statements of family members are recorded.
