Road Construction Dispute Escalates to Physical Clash in Betiya, Bihar
Residents of Dhamora village in the Lauriya block of Betiya district witnessed a startling incident when a disagreement over a road construction scheme turned violent. Blogger Jamaluddin Hasan, active on social media, pressed Panchayat chief Kamlesh Kumar for clarity on the status of the road proposal. According to the blogger, Kumar first claimed the proposal had been approved, but reversed his statement when the camera was turned on, saying the project was still pending.
The contradictory responses led Hasan to confront the chief, demanding an explanation for the change. The Panchayat head responded with aggression, delivering multiple slaps and punches to the blogger. The entire altercation was captured on video and has since gone viral.
While the video circulates widely, there is no official confirmation of any police reports or court filings. The episode has raised concerns about the safety of activists and the accountability of local leaders in rural infrastructure initiatives.
