Post-2025 Bihar assembly elections, the Mahagathbandhan alliance is on shaky ground. Whispers of a Congress-RJD breakup grow louder following their electoral rout. Enter Tej Pratap Yadav, Lalu Yadav’s elder son and Jan Shakti Janata Dal leader, who has fired the latest shot in this brewing feud – targeting Rahul Gandhi with biting sarcasm.
In Patna on January 25, Tej Pratap fielded questions on the potential alliance split. ‘Congress should’ve walked away long ago. Why wait until after the defeat?’ he remarked. Zeroing in on Rahul, he derided, ‘He’s the master of phatphatiya – scooter riding and whipping up murga-bhaat. That’s his true calling.’
The attack escalated as Tej Pratap branded Rahul a ‘spineless coward.’ He recalled Rahul’s pledge to visit Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, which remains unkept. ‘Talk is cheap. Simply polluting the air with scooter rides achieves nothing,’ he scoffed.
Aligning with ex-Congress MP Shakeel Ahmad’s view of Rahul as insecure, Tej Pratap doubled down: ‘Absolutely, he’s a coward through and through.’
This isn’t mere banter; it underscores the blame game consuming the alliance. Tej Pratap left it to the parties to gauge separation’s impact.
Shifting gears, he addressed the heartbreaking NEET student suicide case in Patna, calling for immediate arrests and severe punishment. ‘Justice must be served swiftly to the grieving family,’ he insisted.
Tej Pratap’s bold statements reflect a bolder opposition voice, potentially heralding a realignment in Bihar politics as old alliances crumble under election aftermath pressures.
