Precious Metals Edge Higher as MCX Recovers from Slump
The Multi Commodity Exchange saw a modest recovery on Tuesday, with gold and silver futures each posting gains after a series of declines. Silver’s September 4 contract jumped to Rs 2,19,642 per kg, while gold’s August 5 contract climbed to Rs 1,41,288 per 10 g.
Despite the positive movement, both commodities are trading well under their historical maxima. Silver’s record of nearly Rs 4.20 lakh per kg set in early 2026 remains out of reach, and gold’s top levels are similarly distant.
Potential buyers are advised to watch price trends closely. The recent uplift provides a window of opportunity, but the metals’ positions below former peaks suggest caution before finalising purchases or investment commitments.
