Political Fallout as Anant Singh Accuses JD(U) of Ignoring His Sacrifice Claims
Anant Kumar Singh’s statement that “nine people were murdered for Nitish Kumar” ignited a storm of political commentary across Bihar. The MLA insisted that his remark was a reflection on the loss of nine relatives during the RJD regime and not an admission of any criminal conspiracy.
Singh described the incident as a “sacrifice” that cemented his loyalty to the Nitish Kumar‑led government. He warned that his narrative had been twisted to create a sensational headline, and urged the public to focus on the real issue of political violence that plagued his family.
JD(U) national spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan Prasad cautioned journalists against treating the comment as a factual claim, labeling it “politically motivated rhetoric”. Party chief Sanjay Kumar Jha added that the state unit had taken note of Singh’s explanation and remained confident that the NDA would capture all eight seats in the forthcoming Legislative Council election.
Adding fuel to the fire, Singh openly supported Jan Suraj Party’s Anuj Singh for the Patna Graduates seat, labeling JD(U) candidate Neeraj Kumar as a “political obstacle”. The move underscores a deepening fissure within the JD(U) as it braces for the upcoming electoral battle.
