Police Probe Gas Cylinder Attack on Deaf-Mute Woman in Bihar

Gaya district's law-enforcement agencies are intensifying their investigation after a 50-year-old deaf-mute widow was found dead in a cramped room adjacent to a railway line in Mallah, a part of the Mufassil police jurisdiction. The victim, known locally as Guangi Devi, was discovered without clothing and with a severe head wound that appears to have been inflicted by a gas cylinder.

Scene photographs reveal splattered blood across the floor and walls, suggesting a struggle. The cylinder, a common household item, was found near the body and is believed to have been used as a blunt instrument. The forensic team has been tasked with establishing whether the weapon caused the fatal injuries or if another object was involved.

Detectives are also exploring the possibility of sexual violence. The post-mortem report, which will include toxicology and DNA testing, is expected to provide clarity on any non-consensual acts before the murder.
