Physical Trainer Turned Predator: Abuse of Home Guard in Goraur, Vaishali

Authorities in Vaishali’s Goraur block are probing a grim case where a local fitness instructor allegedly preyed on a female Home Guard personnel. Subodh Paswan, identified by the victim’s family as the girl’s former physical trainer, is accused of capturing vulgar photographs and videos of her during training sessions. The evidence, according to the mother, was later used to blackmail the family and pressurise the girl into marriage.

When the victim resisted, Paswan allegedly threatened her with death and even brandished a firearm. On the day of the alleged crime, Paswan and his accomplices reportedly stopped the soldier and her younger sister on their way back from the market, forced them into his house and kept the older sister restrained for a whole night, during which she was repeatedly violated. The sister was also allegedly assaulted.

Both women were rescued in a weakened state by police after a local resident reported the situation. They are now receiving treatment at Haji Pur District Hospital. The investigation has uncovered a pattern of sexual exploitation and intimidation by the accused, who is a father of three and married. The case has sparked a broader conversation about the safety of women serving in paramilitary roles and the need for stricter background checks on those who train them.
