Among the initiatives accelerated in the Delhi talks was the greenfield Patna‑Purnia expressway, a high‑speed corridor that will link the capital city directly with the border region of Seemanchal. The project is expected to spur economic activity by cutting travel time and enhancing market access. In addition, a 144‑kilometre Khagaria‑Purnia stretch received approval as a controlled four‑lane high‑speed corridor, with an estimated cost of about ₹3,936 crore. The design allows for future expansion to six lanes, depending on traffic demand, and will play a pivotal role in freight movement to the Haldia port.
