The day many in Patna have been waiting for has arrived. Patna residents will receive a special gift today: the metro. After years of anticipation, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will inaugurate the first phase of the Patna Metro service today, October 6th, at 11 am. He will commence operations from the metro station near the Patliputra Bus Terminal depot, traveling from Bhootnath to New ISBT, marking the beginning of the first phase’s operations.
Patna Metro Rail Corporation (PMRC) has completed the final preparations for operation. Additionally, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will lay the foundation stone for six underground metro stations, including Patna Junction, and a 9.35-kilometer-long tunnel under Corridor One. The metro coaches have been specially decorated with Madhubani paintings, showcasing Bihar’s rich cultural heritage.
Attractive stickers depicting Bihar’s world-famous tourist spots such as Golghar, Mahavir Temple, Mahabodhi Tree, Buddha Stupa, and the ruins of Nalanda have been placed on the gates, windows, and interiors of all metro train coaches.
