Correcting PAN Card Details Through the Official Portal

If the PAN card you received contains incorrect information, such as a misspelled name or wrong date of birth, you can rectify it without visiting an office. Log in to the Income Tax Department’s e-Filing portal or the PAN service provider’s correction section. Choose the PAN Correction option, select the field that needs amendment, and enter the corrected data. Attach supporting documents that validate the change, such as an updated Aadhar card. Submit the request; an acknowledgement number specific to the correction request will be generated. Use this number on the portal’s tracking page to follow the progress. Once approved, a new PAN card reflecting the updated details is printed and dispatched.
