Following heavy rainfall and a subsequent flood alert, the Odisha government has initiated relief operations in the districts of Balasore and Mayurbhanj. Several low-lying areas are at risk due to rising water levels in the Subarnarekha and Budhabalang rivers. Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari confirmed that the situation is under control, despite the ongoing challenges. The India Meteorological Department has issued a red warning for heavy rainfall in the coming days. The government is coordinating with neighboring Jharkhand, where some dams are incomplete, and is providing food and essential supplies to affected communities. Rescue operations have been intensified, with ODRAF and Fire Services teams deployed across the affected areas. Compensation will be provided to address agricultural losses.
