Northeastern Floods Worsen Amid Widespread Monsoon

Continuous rain in Arunachal Pradesh and Assam has raised water levels in the Brahmaputra tributaries, flooding low-lying villages. State disaster management teams report that more than 22,000 people across several districts are now displaced. The situation remains volatile, as saturated soil increases the risk of landslides in the hilly terrain, while road networks remain partially closed due to waterlogging.
