In a major policy shift, the Bihar administration is set to implement rigorous oversight for the state's vast coaching industry. Beyond administrative permissions, the new regulations emphasize physical infrastructure and student safety as primary requirements for operation. Coaching centers must now comply with fire safety standards, providing an official NOC from the fire department, and ensure basic amenities such as clean drinking water and separate toilets. The government's proactive stance comes after several incidents highlighted the lack of safety and formal regulation in these educational hubs. Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary stated that the priority is to maintain academic discipline while protecting student interests.
