NCRTC Assigned to Draft DPR for Bihar’s New RRTS Network

The Bihar cabinet has tasked the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) with preparing a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the four proposed Namo Bharat corridors. NCRTC will conduct feasibility studies, surveys and cost analyses to determine the technical and financial viability of the routes.

Key cities under review include Begusarai, Ara, Hajipur, Muzaffarpur, Bakhtiyarpur and several smaller towns. The DPR will outline alignment options, land acquisition needs, station locations and integration with existing transport infrastructure such as the Patna Metro and upcoming airports. The agency’s involvement signals a serious commitment to bringing high‑speed rail to Bihar in the near future.
