The Bari Durga Maharani puja at Kalyanpur in Munger, a tradition more than 363 years old, has built a grand pandal modelled on Malaysia's Petronas Twin Towers this year at a cost of about Rs 3 crore.
Highlights include a waterfall at the entrance, a laser show, elaborate lighting and a Victoria House-themed section for darshan of Lord Shiva. Artisans from West Bengal and Jharkhand built the structure, while artists from Delhi and Uttar Pradesh handled the glass work.
The committee began its theme journey in 2021 with Jaipur's Hawa Mahal, followed by the Taj Hotel, Meenakshi temple, Burj Khalifa and Bangkok's Wat Arun. The puja draws devotees from Munger, Bhagalpur, Banka, Khagaria, Jamui and Begusarai.
