Mohit Raj Murder: Bihar Police Expose Mother-Led Conspiracy
Bihar police have uncovered a chilling conspiracy behind the murder of a 14-year-old schoolboy in Bhojpur district. The investigation points to his own mother, who is accused of planning the killing along with her lover because the boy opposed their relationship.
The incident took place in Durgpur village under the Tarari police station jurisdiction. The victim, Mohit Raj, was an eighth-class student. Police say the mother, Manti Devi, had an alleged affair with Santosh Kumar Singh, a villager who frequently visited her home. Mohit knew about the relationship and protested against it, leading to regular conflict between him and his mother.
Police believe the mother and her lover saw the boy's objections as a threat and decided to get rid of him. At a press conference on Sunday, Piro SDPO Kanhaiya Kumar said the case was solved through technical, scientific and human evidence. He said Santosh Kumar Singh, acting on the mother's direction, murdered the boy with the help of two other persons.
The timeline of the crime began on October 27, when Mohit went to an ATM at Karath bazaar to withdraw money. According to his father, Satyendra Singh alias Alagu, the boy took out six thousand rupees. He was heading home but did not arrive by evening. The family searched for him but could not find any trace.
The next morning, October 28, the body was found near Birhar Karha in the Karath village area. The discovery shocked residents, and the postmortem was conducted after police began their probe at the scene.
The father's statement formed the basis of the FIR, in which he named Santosh Kumar Singh and two others. He had earlier said his son opposed the suspect's visits to their house, and that threats had been issued during past disputes.
During questioning, the mother's involvement emerged, and she was taken into custody and later arrested after admitting to aspects of the plan, according to the SDPO. Tarari police station chief Pankaj Kumar said calls between the mother and Santosh often lasted 30 to 40 minutes. Police are still searching for Santosh Kumar Singh and two other accused, and say all of them have been identified.
