Three Migrant Workers Fatally Struck by Lightning in Novada’s Rajouli While Planting Rice

In the evening of Tuesday, a sudden storm turned deadly for three migrant laborers in the Rajouli area of Novada district. While planting rice in the fields of Darayapur village, a bolt of lightning hit the exposed workers, killing them on the spot.

The three men, originally from Sitamarhi’s Madheshra village, had traveled to Rajouli seeking seasonal work. Their identities were recorded as Rajendra Kumar, Indal Prasad’s son Indrajit Kumar, and Mani Kumar. Two to three other laborers were also injured and are receiving treatment at a nearby hospital.

Local authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the strike, emphasizing the need for better weather warnings for agricultural workers.
