Mastermind at large as NIA uncovers digital trail in Cambodia slavery

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) intensified its crackdown on a Cambodia-origin slavery syndicate on July 7, executing raids at six strategic locations spanning Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi.

Searches in Bihar’s Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran and East Champaran districts yielded a trove of electronic evidence – mobile phones, laptops and hard drives – alongside documents that outline the trafficking chain. Similar raids in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi uncovered additional devices and incriminating paperwork.

Forensic experts are currently dissecting the captured data to reconstruct the full digital footprint of the operation. Early findings reveal links to offshore fraudulent platforms, victim-identifying details, and instructions for conducting cyber scams.
