Man Arrested for Eating Victim's Gold Necklace in Bihar Theft

The individual apprehended in connection with the necklace theft was identified as Rahul Kumar, a resident of Jagdishpur Ward‑1 in the Bhagwanpur police area. During interrogation, he admitted that he works as an e‑rickshaw driver.

Kumar confessed that he spotted the gold necklace on the woman's neck and, driven by a sudden impulse, seized it. He further disclosed that he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the robbery, which he claimed impaired his judgment.

When the surrounding crowd attempted to subdue him, he reacted by ingesting the stolen jewelry to avoid detection. He also acknowledged that the beating he received from bystanders prompted him to take the drastic step of swallowing the necklace.

Medical staff are monitoring his condition closely, and the police have filed a formal FIR covering theft, assault, and attempts to tamper with evidence. The investigation continues as officials prepare to prosecute the case in court.
