Makeshift Bridge of Doors and Windows: Students Build Path to Hostel Amidst Flooding

The deplorable conditions at the Tilka Manjhi University hostel in Bhagalpur, Bihar, are shocking. This university, once graced by the esteemed poet Ramdhari Singh Dinkar as its Vice Chancellor, and which has produced four Chief Ministers of Bihar, presents a dire situation. To reach the Ambedkar Kalyan Hostel, students must first navigate a 200-meter stretch along a wall, flanked by stagnant, filthy water. They then traverse a makeshift bridge constructed by the students themselves, using bamboo, doors, and windows. The situation has persisted for four years, with the university administration seemingly indifferent. Consequently, the students have been compelled to find their own solutions to the problem.
