Madhepura Crime: 10-Year-Old Girl Raped by Coaching Center Owner

Tensions are high in Madhepura, Bihar, following the brutal sexual assault of a minor student by her tutor. Living with her maternal relatives for her education, the 10-year-old girl had stayed back after school hours at the Rainbow Science Circuit coaching center. While other students left, she remained to get an Aadhaar card photocopy. Taking advantage of the isolation, the center's director, Shankar Kumar Mandal, allegedly gagged the girl and raped her. The victim's uncle eventually found her in a state of unconsciousness after entering the facility. Although he attempted to capture the perpetrator, Mandal escaped into the nearby fields. Local police, led by Station House Officer Varun Kumar, responded immediately to the call. The victim was rushed to the Sadar Hospital for emergency treatment and a forensic medical investigation. Local authorities have since shuttered the establishment and are conducting raids across the region to locate the accused. The incident has sparked widespread outrage among the villagers, who are demanding strict punishment for the breach of trust by an educator.
