Currently Bihar hosts 51 Kendriya Vidyalayas, a fraction of the 1,289 KVs operating nationwide. The addition of 18 new schools will raise the state’s count to 69, narrowing the gap with neighboring states such as Jharkhand and Tamil Nadu. Over the past decade, 192 KVs have been opened across India, with five in Bihar alone. The new establishments are part of the broader Government of India initiative to implement the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, emphasizing modern infrastructure, digital classrooms and inclusive education. Once completed, the network will provide a seamless, high‑quality learning environment for thousands of students who currently travel to other districts for KV education.
