Khagaria Tragedy: Man Stabs Mother, 5 Others Post Father's Demise

A wave of panic gripped Pipra Panchayat in Bihar's Khagaria district after a mourning gathering turned into a bloody confrontation. The incident occurred in Jamua village when a local youth, identified as Pradeep Pathak, allegedly attacked six people with a sharp-edged weapon. According to eyewitnesses, the violence began around 11:00 AM on Wednesday, shortly after Pradeep's father, Ugrasen Pathak, died of natural causes. While the community was busy providing solace to the bereaved family, Pradeep allegedly snapped and began striking out at everyone around him, including his mother. The local police have confirmed the arrest of the accused. Station House Officer of Chautham police station stated that they are investigating the incident from all angles, including the suspect's mental health history. Local villagers mentioned that Pradeep had been behaving erratically for a while, and the grief of his father's death seemingly pushed him over the edge. The six injured victims were initially treated at a local health center before three were moved to a district hospital for intensive care. The village remains under a cloud of fear and disbelief as the police continue their legal proceedings against the accused.
