Mokama Turmoil: 50,000 Rasgullas Prepared for Anuj Singh’s Nomination Event
Beyond political posturing, Anant Singh’s support for Dr. Anuj Singh has taken on a tangible, sweet dimension. Reports from Mokama say that more than 50,000 rasgullas were prepared at Singh’s residence to be handed out during the nomination ceremony.
The massive confectionery effort was intended to reward supporters and the general public attending the event, turning the political gathering into a festive occasion. The rasgullas were distributed among the crowd, further cementing Singh’s image as a populist leader willing to go the extra mile for his base.
Dr. Anuj Singh, a Ph.D. holder in Resource Geography and director of the Modern Group of Institutes/Modern English School, has a strong academic background. He previously served as vice‑president of the Navada district Congress unit before joining Jan Suraj, where he contested the 2025 assembly election from the Navada seat. Though he lost that battle, the party has now positioned him as its candidate for the Patna Graduate Council seat.
The rasgulla episode underscores the intensity of the JDU internal conflict, with party workers and local leaders rallying around Singh’s independent campaign, while the official JDU machinery struggles to contain the fallout.
