JDS Fields Nirej Kumar Sinha Against Prashant Kishore in Banikpur By‑election

The Jan Suraj Party’s Prashant Kishore will now face Nirej Kumar Sinha of the Janata Dal (United) in the upcoming 30 July by‑poll. The JD(U) candidate, along with RJD’s Rekha Kumari, have been announced for the contest. Kishore, who labelled the election a “referendum on the state government’s performance”, reminded voters that the nomination deadline is 13 July and polling will take place on 30 July, with results declared on 3 August.
