Jahangirabad: Smack Syndicate Murders Police Constable After Raid
A routine anti-narcotics operation in Bihar’s Jahangirabad district ended in tragedy when narcotic smugglers murdered a police constable. Dineshwar Yadav, serving with the Tiger Mobile unit, left for a raid against smack distribution late Thursday afternoon. His colleagues quickly realized he was missing and coordinated a massive search effort. The grim reality surfaced on Saturday when his body was pulled from the Darha river near Naiyawa, falling under the Kakko police jurisdiction.
Upon learning of the recovery, SP Kota Kiran Kumar deployed a dedicated investigation team to the site. Alongside senior district officers, the SP examined the location to reconstruct the events leading to the killing. Forensic reports indicate that violent bludgeoning with wooden sticks caused his death. Law enforcement authorities suspect the traffickers acted in retaliation for the impending police crackdown.
The murder has sent shockwaves through the provincial police establishment. Officers are deeply concerned about the mounting risks associated with intercepting organized drug cartels. The suspect network remains at large, with police actively tracking leads to secure arrests. Constable Yadav, originally from Ara in Bhojpur district, leaves behind a legacy of fearless duty. Administrative measures to safeguard personnel during high-stakes operations are now under urgent review.
