In a significant leap forward, Bihar’s e-governance initiatives have earned ISO 9001:2015 certification. Awarded formally on January 21, 2026, to the department and BIPARD for three years, this accolade validates excellence in operations, openness, and uniformity.
Dr. B. Rajender, Additional Chief Secretary, announced the achievement in Patna, emphasizing the transformative impact of the 2011 Right to Public Services Act. Spanning 14 departments, it delivers 153 services like residential proofs, ration cards, accident compensations, driver’s permits, girl child upliftment schemes, and pensions. The state boasts over 51.13 crore processed applications—a testament to efficiency.
Grassroots empowerment is key. Post-July 2025, panchayat-level Jan Seva Kendras provide 64+ services, sparing citizens long journeys to higher offices.
Under the 2015 Public Grievance Redressal Act, 45 departments handle 514 services with assured timelines. From 2016 onwards, 18.57 lakh grievances stand resolved.
Government employees benefit from a dedicated online redressal system since June 2019, clearing 14,569 service-related complaints.
The newly approved Chief Minister Fellowship, notified on September 15, 2025, recruits 121 fellows via IIM Bodh Gaya collaboration for top postings.
