Investigation Launched After Foreign Detainee Breaks Out of Purnia Facility

Purnia Central Jail, classified as a high‑security prison in Bihar, is under intense scrutiny after a Bangladeshi detainee escaped from its detention centre. The inmate, who had been transferred from Supaul district on March 27, escaped by shattering a window. Jail superintendent Manoj Kumar ordered a comprehensive probe, highlighting the apparent negligence of three guards on shift. Police have lodged a case at Kehat police station and are conducting door‑to‑door searches in nearby areas.
