Bihar’s political dynamics have undergone a seismic transformation with the Bharatiya Janata Party securing the Chief Minister's chair for the first time. Samrat Choudhary, a seasoned politician with a background in multiple state parties, met with Governor Sayyid Ata Hasnain on Tuesday evening to present his claim to form the government. His swearing-in as the 24th Chief Minister of Bihar represents a significant milestone for the BJP, which has spent decades building its grassroots presence in the state. The new government will also see the inclusion of JDU veterans Bijendra Yadav and Vijay Chaudhary. Interestingly, all three leaders taking the oath on Wednesday share a history of political migration. Samrat Choudhary began his career with the RJD and moved through the HAM and JDU before joining the BJP. Similarly, Vijay Chaudhary entered politics via the Congress party. This veteran trio is expected to provide stability to the new administration as it prepares for future governance challenges.
