Mountain states of Himachal and Uttarakhand face severe showers

Uttarakhand has been placed under an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rain in districts such as Dehradun, Champawat, Bageshwar, Udham Singh Nagar and Nainital. Authorities caution that landslides, debris flows and sudden rises in river levels could occur. Himachal Pradesh also expects localized heavy rain, while parts of Jammu & Kashmir are seeing intense thunderstorms in areas like Poonch, Kulgam and Pulwama.
