Heavy Rainfall Warnings Across North, Central and East India
For the next seven days, the IMD has warned of intense rain in a large swath of the country. In the north, Delhi, Haryana and Punjab may see heavy showers between July 20‑22. Uttarakhand is under a flood alert from July 18‑21, while Himachal Pradesh faces similar conditions from July 19‑22. Eastern Uttar Pradesh and western Uttar Pradesh are also at risk for very heavy rain from July 19‑22, with thunder and wind speeds of 40‑60 km/h. The northeast states of Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura are expected to endure continuous heavy rainfall. Central Indian regions, including eastern and western Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, as well as parts of Maharashtra, Goa‑Konkan and Gujarat, will continue to experience rain and occasional thunderstorms.
