As the festive season approaches, flight prices tend to skyrocket. With most trains fully booked and bus operators charging exorbitant fares, air travel remains a quick option for reaching destinations. However, flight tickets often become twice as expensive, or even more, compared to regular days during festivals. In some instances, it becomes cheaper to fly to Dubai.
The journey for those traveling to Patna for Diwali and Chhath Puja has become challenging. While Delhi to Patna flights cost less than 5,000 rupees, the fares are increasing, even surpassing the cost of a flight to Dubai as the festivals draw near. From October 16th to 26th, most trains are fully booked. Despite special trains being arranged for Chhath and Diwali, people are still facing difficulties.
Typically, the flight fare from Delhi to Patna ranges between 4,500 to 5,000 rupees. However, during major festivals like Holi, Diwali, and Chhath, this fare can exceed 10,000 rupees. On October 17th, the flight fare from Delhi to Patna was 12,650 rupees, while a flight to Dubai cost 12,958 rupees. This price comparison illustrates how flight fares between Delhi and Patna increase during the festive season.
The rise in prices is due to increased demand for transportation during the festive season. This leads to a shortage of seats in buses, trains, and flights, prompting private bus operators and flight companies to raise ticket prices.
