Complaint Claims Misa Bharti Ignored POCA in Attempt to File Against CM
On Friday, Misa Bharti attempted to register a complaint against Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary at the same Secretariat police station where Sheila Pandit filed her FIR.
Bharti alleges that the police were reluctant to lodge a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act against the chief minister, prompting her to accuse the authorities of bias.
Following the attempt, Bharti and her brother, opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav, posted a screenshot of a social media post that blurred the faces of a girl and her family, alleging that the images were removed after being posted.
The BJP MLC responded by demanding an FIR against Bharti for exposing a minor’s identity and called for the preservation of all related video and photographic material.
The incident has sparked calls for an independent judicial probe, with the opposition announcing they will approach the courts if the police do not act promptly.
