China, UAE, Russia Lead India's BRICS Imports

Official customs data shows that China remains India’s largest BRICS supplier, with imports climbing from $65.2 billion in FY2021 to $131.6 billion in FY2026. The United Arab Emirates followed closely, delivering $63.9 billion worth of goods. Russia’s imports exploded tenfold, jumping from $5.5 billion to $55.4 billion, driven largely by energy purchases.

Together, these three partners account for roughly 84% of India’s total BRICS imports, underscoring a concentrated supply chain that policymakers may need to broaden to mitigate risk.
