Bihar Police’s SIT has concluded its probe into the death of a NEET student at a Patna hostel, delivering a detailed dossier to DGP on Friday. The investigation sifted through more than 40 CCTV recordings and grilled over 15 witnesses, uncovering disturbing details in the process.
The student, preparing rigorously for NEET at Shambhu Girls Hostel, was found in dire condition on January 11 in Chitragupt Nagar. Her demise sparked protests and political furor, forcing the government to launch a dedicated SIT.
From Jehanabad hometown footage to Patna’s streets and medical facilities, every frame was examined. The team zeroed in on family members, hostel workers, and three intimate friends of the deceased, though no arrests followed these sessions.
Separate dossiers cover hospital inquiries and CCTV compilations. The postmortem painted a grim picture: deep scratches on the neck with congealed blood, vein punctures, blue welts on limbs and torso, and suspicious marks hinting at sexual violence.
Patna AIIMS’s review report and FSL analysis remain pending, critical to cracking the case. The SIT document chronicles every question posed and revelation gleaned, setting the stage for deeper scrutiny.
