Bihar’s administration is ramping up its AgriStack initiative with clear directives and rewards for high achievers. Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit led a detailed review, dissecting ongoing works and future milestones in farmer digitization.
A statewide mission-mode drive kicks off February 2, targeting farmer registry under PM Kisan. District Magistrates received strict instructions to prioritize state interests and expedite registrations to advance to phase two.
Incentive structures are designed to motivate: Rs 1.5 lakh for districts hitting 50% PM Kisan registration targets, and Rs 50,000 for those reaching 35%. This performance-based approach ensures accountability.
Farmers will register free of charge, with the government absorbing earlier Rs 15 fees from CSC and Vasudha centers. This farmer-friendly move removes financial barriers to participation.
The meeting underscored mandatory Farmer IDs for all cultivating farmers, facilitating seamless benefits from schemes. Principal Secretary Agriculture Narmdeshwar Lal called it a game-changer for transparency.
National recognition came at a Delhi workshop where Bihar’s systematic approach was hailed as a model. Chief Secretary praised leading districts—Vaishali, Sheohar, Begusarai, Buxar, Sheikhpura, and Katihar—for their exemplary progress.
As Bihar surges ahead, these efforts promise a digitally empowered farming sector, benefiting millions.
